Bachelor of Business Information Technology (BBIT)

The Bachelor of Business Information Technology degree prepares candidates to become specialists in the Information Technology needs of modern businesses. It is designed to meet the increasing demand in the market place for IT professionals with a wide knowledge of business management, technical skills and the capacity to harness and implement IT strategies taking advantage of emerging technologies.

The course is structured to focus on issues surrounding the strategic use, development, implementation and management of computer systems. It includes creating critical awareness of the need to align Information Systems and Information Technology with an organization’s long-term strategy. Courses in humanities and ethics are included to address the need for a wider consideration of issues in business decision-making. Candidates are prepared to work as project managers, System Designers, Information Systems Developers and so on

Minimum entry requirements

KCSE
Mean Grade C+ and C+ plus in Mathematics, C+ English/Kiswahili

KACE
A minimum of two principal passes and a subsidiary 5 upper Level passes

GCE
5 ‘O’ level passes with C and above or principal C at A Level

12th grade
GPA of 2.7

Diploma Credit pass from an institution recognised by CUE. Students from countries, which do not sit any of the above examinations and have completed secondary school, will be required to sit on a special qualifying examination.
