HoD- Dean of Students
As the Dean of Students, am extremely proud to welcome you to Kiriri Women’s University of Science and Technology, the only female university in East and Central Africa. The institution is focused on empowering the girl child to manifest their fullpotential.
Kiriri Women’s University of Science and Technology offers a serene learning environment and ample space for co-curricular activities. The core objective of the institution is to ensure the growth our students to the highest level that they can get to, in all spheres of life.
The Dean of Students office is tasked with the duty of ensuring that our students’ affairs are well catered for while they are within the institution. Our goals are to ensure that we offer the students opportunities for learning, leadership and potential growth, in essence, the holistic growth of the students. Here is where you sharpen your leadership skills, where you become the captain of your own ship. The departments that work hand in hand with the Dean of Students office include:
- The chaplaincy is tasked with offering spiritual growth of all our students. We have unions that support different religions within the institution which fosters the growth of our students
- The counseling department, where our students get to meet with the institution’s counselor who guides them on different aspects of their lives.
- Health service department where our esteemed health unit team meets with our students to provide solutions to any illnesses and advice to our students to avoid any preventable health problems
- Security department. The dean of students’ office works closely with the security team to ensure the safety of all students, including students who reside outside the institution
- Accommodation department. This office is tasked with the provision of hostels for all our students. The institution provides state-of-the-art accommodation for all students who chose to reside within the institution
We encourage our students to participate in co-curricular activities and follow their passion through said activities. The co-curricular activities within the University include different clubs and sports which are created to grow the students’ gifts. The clubs include the Drama club, Music club, Dance club, Red cross club, Debate club and Scouting club among many others. These clubs are involved in different competitions from the regional level to the national level.
Sports on the other hand, is another avenue that our students utilize to grow and bond with each other outside the lecture rooms. We have a variety of sports both indoor and outdoor sports which include soccer, netball, handball, swimming, volleyball, basketball, darts and lawn tennis among many others.
We occasionally hold events within the institution that are meant to encourage growth and participation from all our students. These events include public lectures, talent shows, cultural weeks, sports days and many others.
Our strong alumni program offers our students growth opportunities and links our students to those who are in the field. The alumni are not only offered a variety of jobs within the institution, but our esteemed team of lecturers links them to industry professionals who guide them in the field.
