Kiriri Women’s Chaplaincy

Kiriri Women’s chaplaincy is anchored on multi religious and cultural spirituality, based on human values and ethical principles, to provide   a vibrant conducive environment for holistic, mentorship and inter ecumenism growth of the students, staff and community cohesiveness. Freedom of worship is embraced in the University and the staff and students respect each other’s choices in terms of worship.

Objectives and Services

The chaplaincy department works towards the development and strengthening of spiritual formation for all members of the university through different pastoral services such celebration of sacraments, prayer services, Bible, spiritual studies, counselling, mentorship, mission outreaches, seminars, coordinating religious activities within the University, and community collaborations.

The Chaplaincy is made up of religious leaders (Catholic, Protestant and Muslim) and offers general support and guidance among inter faith communities.

All religions, while welcome have different schedules with regards to their worship needs:

Catholics, under the docket of Young Catholics Society (YCS), celebrate mass every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at St Lucie Chapel, located within the University grounds. They also say the Holy Rosary every Tuesday within the University grounds.

For protestants, they fall under the docket of Christian Union (C.U), which meets every Thursday and Sunday for service within the University

The Seventh Day Adventists (SDA) also meet at least twice a week for their service, every Tuesday and Saturday within the University grounds and also every once in a while, at the churches near the University.

The Muslim fraternity gets to conduct their prayers within the University at the times set aside for prayers.

All our religions are free to hold worship sessions and night prayers (keshas) at any time to feel more connected with their creator.
